The Muslim Democratic Club of New York (MDCNY) is a New York city-based organization of American Muslims whose mission is to help elect responsible Democratic candidates. Furthermore, MDCNY seeks to support Democratic candidates and increase the number of registered and active American Muslim Democratic voters in NYC. New York in particular, with its diverse communities, led the way on issues such as voting rights for women and the civil rights movement. In that tradition, MDCNY works to allow American Muslims to play an influential role in the decision-making process of local and state governments. Khan’s Tutorial is proud to support MDCNY’s mission and works to donate space in the local community for meetings, debates, and other activities of the organization.
“Khan’s Tutorial has quickly become known as a space for community empowerment. Indeed, KT is a beacon for community building and organizing. We’ve held debate watch parties and civic forums at various KT centers located in historically disenfranchised communities. Given the sense of urgency for social and political change, we commend KT for helping to activate an informed South Asian, Arab, and Muslim constituency. We look forward to our continued partnership.” – Tahanie Aboushi, President, Muslim Democratic Club of NY
