Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Ivan Khan is the CEO of Khan’s Tutorial, a tutoring company serving families since 1994. Khan’s Tutorial actively earned recognition for its exceptional work in Specialized High Schools, SAT, AP, and State Standards prep. Media outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, BBC News, NBC Asian America, Al-Jazeera English, and several others actively featured their achievements and success. Dr. Khan is a proud alumnus of Bronx Science, SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, SUNY Downstate School of Public Health, & Columbia Business School. In Spring 2020, Dr. Khan earned a College Advising Certificate from Columbia University’s Teachers College.
Dr. Mansur Khan
(1953 – 2014)
Founder
The late Dr. Mansur Khan is the Founder of Khan’s Tutorial. After founding KT in 1994, Dr. Khan has overseen our growth from a single tutoring center to a rapidly growing academy with 10 locations in the NYC area. Dr. Khan holds a Ph.D. in Economics, 3 Master’s Degrees in Economics, and a Master’s Degree in Education. Prior to founding Khan’s Tutorial, Dr. Khan served as an Assistant Principal with the Dept. of Education, at Wadleigh High School. Before that, he served as the Dean of Students & Math Department Chair at the High School of Economics and Finance. In addition, Dr. Khan has held teaching positions at New York University, Paterson College, NJ, London University, & Dhaka University
Nayeema Khan, MS
Chairperson
Mrs. Nayeema Khan is the Chairperson of Khan’s Tutorial and the United Nations International Congress of Media Goodwill Ambassador for Quality Education. After immigrating to the U.S. in 1985, she has been an active leader in education for more than 25 years. She was a Certified Elementary School Teacher in 1988. Since then, Mrs. Khan gained her Master’s of Science Degree in Human Resource Management from the New School University in 1992. Mrs. Khan enjoys singing & spending time with her granddaughter, Arianna.
Tasneem Imam Khan, MPH
Chief Operating Officer
Tasneem Imam Khan is the Chief Operating Officer of Khan’s Tutorial. Since her start with the organization in 2008, Ms. Khan has held several senior positions helping the organization’s expansion into countless New York City communities. Prior to joining Khan’s Tutorial, Ms. Khan lent her leadership at companies such as Deutsche Bank & Forbes.com. After COVID-19, Ms. Khan’s oversight of Khan’s live digital classes and organizational leadership has helped thousands of students to continue their academic success in a more digital environment. Ms. Khan holds a Bachelor of Arts from Barnard College in Anthropology and a concentration in Computer Science. She also holds a Master’s in Public Health, with a concentration in Health Management from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health.

Ashley J., MS
Director of Common Core
Ashley Jaiprashad is the Director of the Common Core/State Exam Prep Department at Khan’s. She recently completed her Master’s Degree in Information Systems with a concentration in Management and Accounting and is currently finishing the final steps of her CPA certification process. Ashley began her career at Khan’s Tutorial in September 2016 as an Instructor in Ozone Park. Ashley distinguished herself in manager training, earning promotions to Quality Manager and, shortly after, to Senior Manager. Following Khan’s Tutorial’s transition to a virtual platform, she actively earned the promotion to Director of the entire department. During her time in the role, Ashley has led a team of leaders to help countless families recover from learning losses during the pandemic, score 4/4 on state exams, and bring confidence back to school kids and their learning.
Ishaq C.
SHSAT Program Manager
Ishaq Chowdhury is a SHSAT manager at Khan’s Tutorial. He is a first-year Ph.D. student at Columbia University’s Teachers College for his Cognitive Science in Education doctoral studies. Ishaq had started his career at Khan’s in the SHSAT Dept while completing his Bachelor’s Degree from Hunter College. Amidst the organization’s transition to a virtual platform, Ishaq’s exceptional leadership with teammates, effective teaching methods, strong background knowledge in cognitive science, and genuine compassion for his students and families led to his well-deserved promotion to SHSAT manager.
Tasmia P.
Director of GPA/AP
Tasmia Promi is the Director of the GPA/AP Dept at Khan’s Tutorial and is currently a first-year medical student at the SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. Tasmia started her career at Khan’s in the High School GPA Dept as an Instructor in August of 2017. Tasmia’s outstanding performance in manager training led to her promotion as the Director of the GPA/AP Department. Since Khan’s transitioned to a virtual platform in 2020, Tasmia has actively led the development of an outstanding GPA and AP program. Her innovative curriculum has empowered hundreds of students to achieve incredible scores on their path to selective universities. Additionally, Tasmia’s remarkable achievement includes completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry and Interdisciplinary Studies, with a minor in Psychology.
Faysal M.
Director of SAT
Faysal Molla is the Director of the SAT Department at Khan’s Tutorial and a Biomedical Engineer at NYC Bellevue Medical Center. Faysal started as an SAT Instructor in October 2018. After helping dozens of his students achieve scores above 1450, Faysal was invited to manager training where his intuition, participation, and responsibility helped him stand out. After joining the SAT curriculum and Operations team, Faysal was later promoted to Director of the SAT program.
Under Faysal’s leadership, Khan’s Tutorial’s SAT program has grown in popularity, reputation, and student success. By 2021, SAT students at Khan’s had gained offers to countless selective universities, combined degree programs, oftentimes with generous merit-based scholarships.
