Khan’s Tutorial is a tutoring and mentorship company whose mission is to create upward mobility through education, free community workshops and scholarships for underrepresented youth. As part of our commitment to fostering talent and giving back to the community, we offer unpaid internships for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in the field of community outreach and marketing. We are currently seeking Community Outreach Interns to support our Community Outreach Coordinator in executing foot marketing activities and promoting our tutoring services within the local community.
Role Overview
As a Community Outreach Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our Community Outreach Coordinator and gain practical experience in implementing targeted marketing strategies. This internship will provide you with valuable skills in community engagement, project management, and data analysis, while contributing to the growth and success of our organization. Although this is an unpaid internship, we will provide you with mentorship, training, and professional development opportunities throughout your tenure.
The ideal candidate for this position must have the following qualifications:
- Must have taken the SAT/PSAT and/or ACT Exam SAT Score: at least 1400 and GPA greater than 92%
- Ability to work well with teammates.
- Must be a Junior in High School and above.
- Strong interest in community outreach and marketing.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with diverse community members.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Passion for education and a genuine interest in making a positive impact in the lives of students.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Community Outreach Coordinator in organizing and executing foot marketing activities, including flyering, door-to-door visits, and tabling events.
- Collaborate with the team to distribute promotional materials, engage with community members, and raise awareness about our tutoring services.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to learn about marketing strategies, campaign planning, and data tracking methodologies.
- Help maintain records and documentation of foot marketing activities, including the number of flyers distributed, door-to-door conversations, and table interactions.
- Assist in tracking and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) related to foot marketing initiatives.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports summarizing the team’s activities, outcomes, and recommendations for improvement.
- Seeking 3 days per week availability a combination of two weekdays and one weekend day. Shifts will be 4 hours a day.
This is an unpaid internship opportunity that will last about 8 weeks starting June 29th. As an intern, you will receive mentorship, guidance, and the opportunity to gain valuable experience in community outreach and marketing. Upon successful completion of the internship, you will also receive a letter of recommendation and be eligible to apply for future paid positions within our organization.
