What Does Our Program Look Like?
The Pre-SHSAT Program
The Pre-SHSAT Program is designed for current 6th graders who want to get ahead before the SHSAT year begins. Starting May 9th, students spend the summer building the core fundamentals in math and ELA that will set them up to excel when they enter our full SHSAT program in the fall. The program runs through August 30th and flows directly into the start of the SHSAT Core Program, giving your child a full headstart over their peers. Students attend one group class for 4 hours a week.
Full Pipeline to Specialized High Schools
Students who complete the Pre-SHSAT program move directly into our SHSAT program in the fall, which includes the Core Program, Workshop Add-On, and Bootcamp options. The earlier your child starts, the better prepared they will be on exam day.
What Comes After the Pre-SHSAT Program?
After completing the Pre-SHSAT program in August, students flow directly into our full SHSAT program, the same program that has placed 5,005+ students into NYC’s Specialized High Schools.
The Core Program
The Core SHSAT Program runs until the end of October with rolling admission. Students attend one group class for 4 hours a week and learn all the basics of SHSAT. The Core Program includes one signature diagnostic exam every month and all work digitized for your convenience.
Workshop Add-On
The Workshop Program is an add-on to our Core Program with a focus on the Math section of the SHSAT along with Diagnostic Retakes. Students attend one workshop class for an additional 2.5-hour group class a week on top of the Core Program.
Bootcamp Summer Add-On
The Bootcamp Summer Program is an add-on to our Core Program that allows students to use the extra time away from school during the summer months to revise, relearn, or reaffirm any problem topics on the SHSAT. Students attend bootcamp classes for an additional 3 hours every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday on top of the Core Program.
