Studying for the SHSAT can be a daunting task for many students that wish to take on the challenging exam and score a chance to attend one of the Specialized High Schools. Here, we have some tips for improving your score on each section of the exam.
The Specialized High Schools (group of schools that require the SHSAT exam to admit students) are a group of 9 schools in the NYC DOE public school system that provide a high quality of education to their students. Students from these schools tend to have higher admissions rates to top colleges and better scores on their standardized exams.
On April 5, 2014, Khan’s Tutorial (KT) hosted its Annual SHSAT Awards Ceremony for their students who gained acceptance to NYC’s Specialized High Schools. Just weeks ago the results of the SHSAT were released across NYC. This week, accepted students and their families gathered to celebrate a year of hard work and the resulting success.
Monday, March 10, 2014 marked the release of the results of the Specialized High School Admissions Test (SHSAT), the sole determinant of admission into New York City’s prestigious Specialized High Schools including Stuyvesant High School, Bronx High School of Science, and Brooklyn Technical High School. The aforementioned schools accept a total of 2,500 students per year out of the 30,000 students that take the challenging exam. The SHSAT program at Khan’s Tutorial (KT) is conducted year round with students starting classes 8-12 months before their exam. Over the last 20 years, KT has helped over 1,600 students gain admission to these schools
