Khan’s Tutorial Student Gets Accepted to Columbia University

New York, NY – April 10, 2019 – Late last month, KT Student Tasnima Zaman was accepted to Columbia University. Currently she is a student at the highly selective Trinity School and plans to study political science and economics during her time at Columbia. Tasnima was a star student in Khan’s Tutorial’s SAT Program and received one of the highest scores in her class.

Khan’s Tutorial Leaders Fight for Education Access for Bangladeshi Community and Underrepresented Communities at SHSAT Hearing at Queens Borough Hall

Queens, NY – April 12, 2019 – Yesterday community members, organizers, and elected officials gathered at Queens Borough Hall for the first of several SHSAT hearings. The public had the opportunity to discuss their views on education access and the admissions criteria for the Specialized High Schools. Khan’s Tutorial has been a strong supporter of equity in K-8 education, the expansion of Gifted and Talented programs and honors/accelerated tracks in all school districts, as well as increased school funding.

KT Chairperson and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador Mrs. Nayeema Khan hosts Mother’s Empowerment Workshop with Stuyvesant High School Leaders

Jackson Heights, NY – April 2, 2019 – This past Saturday, KT Chairperson Mrs. Nayeema Khan held a Mother’s Empowerment Workshop for mothers of middle school and high school students at KT’s SAT & Regents Center in Jackson Heights. As United Nations Goodwill Ambassador for education, Mrs. Khan’s goal has been to provide educational programs for both students and parents in the community. The workshop included a panel of mothers as well as several special guests.
