Khan’s Tutorial Student Achieves 1550 on August SATs

Khan’s Tutorial would like to congratulate the following Khan’s Tutorial SAT students for their fantastic scores on the August 2018 SATs. Khan’s Tutorial’s highest scorer for this round of scores is Ishad Z. with a near perfect score of 1550/1600. Ishad is student at The Bronx High School of Science.

Khan’s Tutorial Celebrates Successful Regents, SAT, and College Accepted Students at First Ever High School Achievement Program Awards Ceremony

Queens, NY – On Wednesday, August 8th, Khan’s Tutorial (KT) hosted its first stand alone High School Awards Ceremony at Joya Hall. The High School Achievement Program (HSAP) is led by Ms. Tasneem Imam Khan, MPH a graduate of Barnard College with a Master’s Degree from Columbia University. During the ceremony Khan’s Tutorial celebrated its High School students who achieved high scores on their Regents and SATs as well as those who gained admission to Ivy League schools.

Khan’s Tutorial hosts Leadership Training for SAT and SHSAT Instructors

Queens, NY – To start off the summer, Khan’s Tutorial held their annual SAT and SHSAT Training Sessions at their headquarters, located at KT Sutphin. The SAT and SHSAT are considered to be two of the most competitive standardized exams any NYC student will take. Training sessions help to keep KT leaders from all 11 locations up to date on how to better serve their community through new teaching techniques and strategies.

Khan’s Tutorial Leaders Rally with Elected Officials and Community Organizers to Preserve the SHSAT

New York, NY – Last week, Khan’s Tutorial leaders rallied with community organizers and elected officials at Queens Borough Hall in support of the SHSAT. As the Mayor plans to change the current admissions criteria to the Specialized High Schools, many are calling for the Department of Education to increase seats at the schools in order to increase opportunities for minority students. Additionally, education advocates have called for greater New York Bangladeshi involvement in support of the current admissions criteria.

Khan’s Tutorial SHSAT Program and Student Featured on NY1 Spectrum Documentary

New York, NY – Yesterday, NY1 Spectrum’s 30-minute documentary on the Specialized High School process featured Khan’s Tutorial’s SHSAT Program. The piece, entitled “A Select Few” details how test preparation has become an essential step for students who want to attend schools such as Stuyvesant, Bronx Science, and Brooklyn Tech. KT CEO & President, Dr. Ivan Khan spoke about the growth and impact of test preparation in the South Asian NYC community. For many low-income new immigrant families, the SHSAT has been a pathway out of poverty.

KT CEO & President, Dr. Ivan Khan Rallies to Keep the SHSAT with Asian American Community Organizations

Manhattan, NY – Last week, several community based organizations gathered for two rallies to show support for the SHSAT. Mayor Bill de Blasio’s recently announced plan proposes to change the current admissions criterion to NYC’s Specialized High Schools. This plan would replace the SHSAT with a new method that would admit students based on their class rank at their middle school as well as their statewide standardized tests scores.

More than a dozen KT students scored a 1400+ on their April & May SATs

Khan’s Tutorial would like to congratulate the following Khan’s Tutorial SAT students for their fantastic scores on the April & May 2018 SATs. Khan’s Tutorial’s highest scorer for this round of scores is Mohammed Uddin with a near perfect score of 1560/1600. Mohammed is currently a student at Stuyvesant High School.
