Khan’s Tutorial Chairperson, Mrs. Nayeema Khan Receives Honorary Doctorate Degree at United Nations

Manhattan, NY – Earlier this week Mrs. Nayeema Khan, Chairperson of Khan’s Tutorial was recognized at the United Nations Headquarters for her leadership in education. Mrs. Khan was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Leadership & Governance by the Executive Board of iChange Nations Organization at the United Nations. In her role at Khan’s Tutorial, Mrs. Khan oversees a staff of 400 leaders & Instructors, and serves over 3,500 families weekly, for their supplemental education needs. Today she also serves as a UN Goodwill Ambassador for the Sustainable Goal of Education.

Khan’s Tutorial Celebrates Successful Regents, SAT, and College Accepted Students at Annual SAT & Regents Awards Ceremony

Queens, NY – On Thursday, August 8th, Khan’s Tutorial hosted its SAT and Regents Awards Ceremony and Dinner at Joya Hall. The SAT & Regents program at Khan’s Tutorial is led by Ms. Tasneem Imam Khan, MPH, a graduate of Barnard College with a Master’s Degree from Columbia University. During the ceremony Khan’s Tutorial celebrated its High School students who achieved high scores on their Regents and SATs as well as those who gained admission to Ivy League schools and top colleges.

Khan’s Tutorial Leaders Stand in Solidarity with Hindu Community After Violent Attack in Queens

Queens, NY – Yesterday, Khan’s Tutorial leaders, community organizers, and elected officials gathered in support of Swami Ji Harish Chander Puri. The 62-year-old Hindu priest was viciously attacked while wearing religious garb near Shiv Shakti Peeth Temple, at 264-12 Hillside Avenue last Thursday. The attacker beat the priest with an umbrella while reportedly telling Puri to “get out of my neighborhood”. Puri is currently recovering after being hospitalized and the attacker has been arrested. The NYPD is still determining if the incident will be classified as a hate crime.

Khan’s Tutorial’s SHSAT Program featured in PBS News Hour Segment on NYC Education

New York, NY – Yesterday, PBS released the second part of its two part series, Making the Grade, a story on education in New York City. The story featured Khan’s Tutorial’s students and parents in the SHSAT program. Viewers can learn about the journey to the Specialized High Schools and the disparities in NYC public education.

Khan’s Tutorial Hosts Leadership Training for Directors and Quality Managers

Queens, NY — Khan’s Tutorial held their annual Summer Leadership Training Session this week at their headquarters, located at KT Sutphin. During the week of training, top Khan’s Tutorial Instructors learn how to help better serve the students in their respective branches. Furthermore, they learn key principles in teaching, leadership, and management. In preparation of upcoming exams, trainees are taught how to increase the quality of learning to ensure all students are prepared. Khan’s Tutorial values being a company in the community that can offer mentorship and guidance to students and parents.

New York, NY, – Last week, Mrs. Nayeema Khan, Chairperson of Khan’s Tutorial was honored by NAVA (New American Voters Association) at its “Salute to Educators” event celebrating leaders in education. NAVA is a nonpartisan organization established to advance political awareness and voters’ education of new immigrant communities thought NYC. KT Chairperson and UN Goodwill Ambassador Mrs. Nayeema Khan was honored for her contributions to education along with several NYC public school Principals and a representative of the United Federation of Teachers.

Khan’s Tutorial CEO & President Dr. Ivan Khan is Inducted into the National Public Health Honor Society at SUNY Downstate School of Public Health

New York, NY, –  Last week, Dr. Ivan Khan, CEO & President of Khan’s Tutorial was honored by SUNY Downstate’s School of Public Health. Dr. Khan completed the combined medical program at the Sophie Davis School of BioMedical Education/CUNY Medical School, and went onto earn his Medical Doctorate (M.D.) & Masters in Public Health (M.P.H.) from SUNY Downstate Medical Center. Dr. Khan was inducted into the National Public Health Honor Society, in the presence of his mother, KT Chairperson Mrs. Nayeema Khan, his wife, KT High School Achievement Program Director, Ms. Tasneem Imam Khan, and his son, Ian Khan.

New York, NY, –  This past month, SAT scores have been released and Khan’s Tutorial would like to congratulate the following Khan’s Tutorial SAT students for their fantastic scores on the March 2019 SATs. Two March SAT’s were administered: the March 9th exam and the in-school March 27th exam. Between these two exams, 47 KT students scored above 1400, and 47 achieved 1500+. Khan’s Tutorial’s highest scorer for this round of scores is Adib R. with a near perfect score of 1580/1600. Displayed below are KT students who scored a 1450 and higher.

Stuyvesant High School Hosts Parent Workshop for Bengali Parents at Khan’s Tutorial’s SAT & Regents Center in Jackson Heights

Jackson Heights, NY – Last weekend, leaders from Stuyvesant High School hosted a Parent Workshop for Bengali families at Khan’s Tutorial’s SAT & Regents Center. The workshop, lead by Ms. Casey J. Pedrick, Assistant Principal & Pupil Personnel Services and Ms. Dina Ingram, Director of Family Engagement was intended to help families understand Stuyvesant coursework, maximize parent resources and tools, and navigate the college application process. Parents were able to ask Stuyvesant teachers and guidance counselors questions and hear from Stuyvesant students and alumnus about their high school experience. Khan’s Tutorial provided space for the event as well as translation services for attendees.
