New York, NY, – Last week, Mrs. Nayeema Khan, Chairperson of Khan’s Tutorial was honored by NAVA (New American Voters Association) at its “Salute to Educators” event celebrating leaders in education. NAVA is a nonpartisan organization established to advance political awareness and voters’ education of new immigrant communities thought NYC. KT Chairperson and UN Goodwill Ambassador Mrs. Nayeema Khan was honored for her contributions to education along with several NYC public school Principals and a representative of the United Federation of Teachers.
“For the past 25 years, part of our mission at Khan’s Tutorial has been to provide a quality education to all New York City families, particularly new immigrant families. With 11 locations in the outer boroughs of New York City, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and in the Jackson Heights, Jamaica, Astoria, Sunnyside, Ozone Park, and Floral Park neighborhoods of Queens, Khan’s Tutorial primarily serves in assisting families in low-income, new immigrant neighborhoods. A total of 3,383 students have received offers to New York City’s Specialized High Schools through Khan’s Tutorial since its inception in 1994.
