Khan’s Tutorial CEO & President Dr. Ivan Khan is Inducted into the National Public Health Honor Society at SUNY Downstate School of Public Health

New York, NY, –  Last week, Dr. Ivan Khan, CEO & President of Khan’s Tutorial was honored by SUNY Downstate’s School of Public Health. Dr. Khan completed the combined medical program at the Sophie Davis School of BioMedical Education/CUNY Medical School, and went onto earn his Medical Doctorate (M.D.) & Masters in Public Health (M.P.H.) from SUNY Downstate Medical Center. Dr. Khan was inducted into the National Public Health Honor Society, in the presence of his mother, KT Chairperson Mrs. Nayeema Khan, his wife, KT High School Achievement Program Director, Ms. Tasneem Imam Khan, and his son, Ian Khan.

“It was a very humbling experience to become inducted into the National Honor Society of Public Health. Public Health is one of the fastest growing career fields for Bangladeshi and South Asian young adults. As a graduate of Bronx Science, Sophie Davis, SUNY Downstate, and Columbia Business School I can attest that the my public health experience at SUNY Downstate was truly one of the most fulfilling and important aspects of my education and career. I look forward to seeing more Bangladeshi and South Asian bright minds enter the public health field. With 11 locations in the outer boroughs of New York City, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and in the Jackson Heights, Jamaica, Astoria, Sunnyside, Ozone Park, and Floral Park neighborhoods of Queens, Khan’s Tutorial primarily serves in assisting families in low-income, new immigrant neighborhoods. A total of 3,383 students have received offers to New York City’s Specialized High Schools through Khan’s Tutorial since its inception in 1994.
