New York, NY – July 28, 2026 – Khan’s Tutorial, the New York City-based tutoring and test preparation organization serving students since 1994, today announced continued success in college admissions outcomes across its extended community. Khan’s next College Admissions workshop continues on August 8th & August 15th with a College Essay writing workshop from Khan’s counselors at Harvard.
In Spring 2025 alone, members of the Khan’s Tutorial family reported 501 college acceptances. Combined with the following year, the two-year total climbs to 672 acceptances, spanning schools from the Ivy League to top 20 colleges across New York State – including Brown, Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, and NYU. Many students also received full scholarships to the renowned Macaulay Honors program at CUNY, and similar honors programs in many State University of New York colleges.
“For over three decades, Khan’s Tutorial has been part of the fabric of this city’s neighborhoods, and these results are proof of what happens when hard work meets consistent support,” said Dr. Ivan Khan, CEO of Khan’s Tutorial. “Every acceptance on this list belongs to a student or a team member who put in the hours, showed up to the workshops, and trusted the process. What means the most to me is how many of them we get to see twice. First as students working toward their own acceptance letters, and later as instructors standing in front of the next class of students doing the exact same thing. That full-circle story, repeated year after year, is what continued success looks like at Khan’s Tutorial.”
The results reflect Khan’s Tutorial’s roots in the communities it serves, many of the organization’s SAT, SHSAT, and Common Core instructors are themselves products of the same NYC public school pipeline their students are navigating today, from Stuyvesant and Bronx Science to Brooklyn Tech.
Free Parent Workshops for College Admissions Success
As part of its commitment to the community, Khan’s Tutorial continues to offer free workshops for students and families, covering key strategies for succeeding throughout high school and navigating the college admissions process, from building a strong academic foundation early on, to crafting standout applications, to understanding financial aid. The workshops are open to families across Khan’s NYC locations and are designed to give students practical, actionable guidance as they work toward their goals, regardless of whether they are enrolled in a Khan’s program.
“When we started these workshops, the goal was simple: no family in our community should feel like they’re navigating high school and the college admissions process alone, without knowing what questions to ask or what steps to take next,” said Dr. Nayeema Khan, Chairperson of Khan’s Tutorial.
“We open these sessions to any student and any family, whether or not they’re enrolled at Khan’s Tutorial, because we believe that kind of guidance shouldn’t be something only some families have access to. Some of the students who sat in these workshops years ago are the same instructors leading them today, and to us, that’s the clearest sign that the work is paying off, not just in acceptance letters, but in a community that keeps investing in itself.”
