New York, NY – June 11, 2014 – Yesterday, Khan Foundation (KF), a not-for-profit organization serving low income and undocumented youth hosted a celebration for their first cohort of College Access Program Scholars at Macaulay Honors College. Dr. Ivan Khan, Founder, Melissa Johnson, Program Director, and Ashely Azor, Program Coordinator, lead the celebration for graduating KF scholars, their families, board members, and supporters.
 

May 12, 2015 – This week Dr. Ivan Khan, CEO of Khan’s Tutorial, Mohammad Hossain, Director of Operations, and Paulina Baltazar, Director of Marketing Communications attended the White house Initiative  Summit on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) in Washington, DC. The AAPI initiative serves to connect diverse communities around important issues regarding health, education, civil rights, immigration, as well as economic and community development.

On April 25, 2015, Khan’s Tutorial (KT) hosted its Annual SHSAT Awards Ceremony for their students who gained acceptance to NYC’s Specialized High Schools. Just weeks ago, the results of the SHSAT were released across NYC. This week, accepted students and their families gathered to celebrate a year of hard work and the resulting success.

Tabrez Alam a KT Bronx student since 2009 recently received word that he would be graduating as Valedictorian of Bronx Science with a GPA of 97.88. Tabrez, a student personally mentored by Dr. Mansur Khan since childhood and well into high school, attended Khan’s for his Citywide Exams, for SHSAT classes to help gain acceptance to Bronx Science, and later SAT classes. Last year he received our SAT Top Scorer Award and an iPad Mini at our Achievement Awards Ceremony for scoring a near perfect 2310.

Bronx , NY – Yesterday Khan’s Tutorial CEO Dr. Ivan Khan and Chairperson Mrs. Nayeema Khan joined several Bronx community leaders at the 2nd Annual Bangladeshi “Abrazo”, a Hispanic Celebration of unity & cultural recognition. The event was hosted by NYS Assemblyman Luis Sepulveda, NYS Senator Ruben Diaz Sr., NYS Assemblyman Marcos Crespo, and NYS Assemblyman Michael Blake to celebrate Bangladeshi Independence Day as well as empower the Bronx Bangladeshi community.

New York, NY- This past week the US Department of State Office of Broadcast Support visited Khan’s Tutorial at their Castle Hill and Sutphin locations to film a segment for Channel 24 in Bangladesh. Funded by the US government, Channel 24 was sent to several cities across the USA organizing press tours in order to capture the theme of “Bangladeshi Life in America.”  As the NYC Bangladeshi population is one of the fastest growing immigration populations, the crew visited several NYC areas to speak with professionals, housewives, new immigrants, as well as Bangladeshi Americans who grew up in the US.

Khan’s Tutorial students from all over the city have started receiving their results for the NYC Specialized High Schools. As of today, a total of 251 students have been accepted. The total number is expected to grow by the end of the week, as students continue to contact their respective KT centers with the great news.

On Saturday, November 15th, Khan’s Tutorial (KT) hosted its first ever Achievement Awards Ceremony. KT celebrated students in the third through eighth grades who received perfect scores on their ELA and Math Citywide Exams this past year. In addition, we recognized the accomplishments of our high school students whose scored highly on their Regents, SATs, and ACTs.
