Khan’s Tutorial SHSAT Final Parent Teacher Conferences

This past month, Khan’s Tutorial hosted the last parent teacher conferences before the 2014 SHSAT across all of their locations. Students and their families received academic counseling, ranking assistance, and last minute study tips in preparation for test day.

“At Khan’s Tutorial, parental involvement is one of the biggest factors for student success on the exam. We’re excited to educate KT parents as much as we love teaching our students.” said Dr. Ivan Khan.

Conferences were led by Dr. Ivan Khan as well as several Senior Staff members. In addition to the conferences, all KT centers hosted extra review workshops for students.

“Our team, our students, and their families worked really hard this year and we wanted to show parents that we’re with them throughout the entire process, up until the day of the exam,” said Mohammad Hossain, Director of Operations.

All NYC 8th graders will be taking their exams this upcoming Saturday and Sunday.

“We’ve had to have parent teacher conferences all month long to remind our students that they are better prepared than anyone else in the city. The final month before the exam is giving the parents and students the confidence they need to succeed.” said Mrs. Nayeema Khan.

For the past 20 years, Khan’s Tutorial’s mission has been to bring quality education at affordable costs. With 10 locations in the outer boroughs of New York City, including Brooklyn, Castle Hill, Parkchester, Jackson Heights, Jamaica, Sutphin, Richmond Hill, Astoria, Ozone Park, and Floral Park, Khan’s Tutorial primarily serves in assisting families in low-income neighborhoods. Since its inception in 1994, a total of 1,625 students have gained admission to New York City’s Specialized High Schools through Khan’s Tutorial.
