Khan’s Tutorial Celebrates 212 Students for Perfect Common Core Test Scores & Outstanding SAT Success

Khan's Tutorial Common Core Students Celebration.

On Saturday, November 15th, Khan’s Tutorial (KT) hosted its first ever Achievement Awards Ceremony. KT celebrated students in the third through eighth grades who received perfect scores on their ELA and Math Citywide Exams this past year. In addition, we recognized the accomplishments of our high school students whose scored highly on their Regents, SATs, and ACTs.

Amongst our honored guests were NY State Senator Joseph Addabbo and Assemblyman Luis Sepulveda. Mr. Addabbo, a member of the State Senate Education Committee, was recognized for his efforts in Education and the SHSAT exam and Mr. Sepulveda was recognized for his work with students in the Bronx, particularly the Bangladeshi and South Asian community.

KT decided to hold this ceremony because of the overwhelming success of our Common Core Program, which was started in the past few years. Today, KT’s Common Core Program has become as successful as its well-established and recognized SHSAT Program.

“We are proud to see our Common Core program grow and improve every year. Our personalized approach which includes constant communication with parents has tremendously benefitted our students who scored perfect 4s,” said Dr. Ivan Khan, CEO of Khan’s Tutorial.

Our Common Core Program stresses the importance of constant communication by holding FREE workshops for parents and students to explain the changes in the exam and holding weekly Parent Teacher Conferences. KT also offers KT Original Monthly Diagnostic Exams in the Spring. In addition, Khan’s Tutorial is a registered vendor with the Department of Education and works closely with school leaders, especially around report card time.

“Throughout New York City, only 14% of all students scored a 4 in Math and only 8% scored a 4 in English. The fact that we had over 200 students who excelled with 4’s on their exams speaks to the hard work that students, parents, teachers, and everyone at Khan’s Tutorial has put in these past two years,” said the Director of Common Core at Khan’s Tutorial, Nadia Hossain.

For the past 20 years, Khan’s Tutorial’s vision has been to provide quality education at affordable costs. With 10 locations in the outer boroughs of New York City, including Brooklyn, Castle Hill, Parkchester, Jackson Heights, Jamaica, Sutphin, Richmond Hill, Astoria, Ozone Park, and Floral Park, Khan’s Tutorial primarily serves in assisting families in low-income neighborhoods and new immigrant communities.
