Khan’s Tutorial Celebrates Successful Year and Recognizes Outstanding Staff at Annual Staff Holiday Party

Khan's Tutorial Annual Holiday Party.

Earlier this week Khan’s Tutorial hosted it Annual StaffHoliday Party. Every year Mrs. Khan, Dr. Ivan Khan, and the Senior Team celebrate the incredible hard work and sacrifices that each and every Instructor, Manager, and Director make for their students. This year, teammates from each of Khan’s 10 centers gathered at Gulshan Terrace for the event. In addition to celebrating another successful year Khan’s Tutorial recognized the dedication of their teammates by awarding talented Instructors from every department and center.

2016 marked another record setting year for each of Khan’s three departments: Common Core, SHSAT and KT’s High School Achievement Program.

  • Khan’s Common Core Instructors helped over 530 students gain a single four or double four – placing them in the top 10-16% statewide.
  • Khan’s Spring season was highlighted by over 338 SHSAT students gaining acceptance to NYCs Specialized High Schools! This fall, Khans students represented about 10% of the entering class at Stuyvesant, Bronx Science & Brooklyn Tech.
  • Khan’s High School Services Department also enjoyed new milestones this year. In addition to helping students & teammates gain admission to programs like Macaulay Honors College, Sophie Davis, NYU & Columbia, KT’s new leaders are working around the clock to make Khan’s one of the top places for the newly revamped SAT. This is in addition to the mentorship provided weekly at Khan’s High School Achievement Program & new College Admissions program.

“Outside of the classroom, our team has stayed active in education policy, community outreach & has held talks with city and state education departments on various initiatives. Overall the work of our senior team & operations fellows has helped Khan’s become one of NYC’s top companies for tutoring & mentorship,” said Dr. Ivan Khan, CEO & President of Khan’s Tutorial.

With 10 locations in the outer boroughs of New York City, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and in the Jackson Heights, Jamaica, Astoria, Ozone Park, and Floral Park neighborhoods of Queens, Khan’s Tutorial primarily serves in assisting families in low-income, new immigrant neighborhoods. Over 2,217 students have gained admission to New York City’s Specialized High Schools through Khan’s Tutorial since its inception in 1994.
