New York, NY – March 5, 2016 – Earlier this month marked the release of the results of the Specialized High School Admissions Test (SHSAT), the sole determinant of admission into New York City’s prestigious Specialized High Schools including Stuyvesant High School, Bronx High School of Science, Brooklyn Technical High School, and the new Specialized High Schools. The top three Specialized High Schools offer acceptances to a total of about 3,000 students per year out of 30,000 students who take the challenging exam. The SHSAT program at Khan’s Tutorial (KT) is conducted year round with students starting classes 8-12 months before their exam. Over the last 21 years, KT has helped over 2,214 students gain admission to the Specialized High Schools.

A total of 335 students have been accepted so far, shattering last year’s total record of 254 accepted students.
The breakdown of KT’s acceptances in terms of schools (thus far) are:

Stuyvesant HS – 65

This past Acceptance Weekend, all students of last year’s SHSAT program were invited to return to KT to with their acceptance letters to celebrate their success and share their stories with future test takers.

“The academic success of our students over the past 21 years with 10 locations and over 2,600 unique students served every week leaves us as the largest leading tutorial in NYC and the #1 tutorial for the SHSAT with the highest success rate,” said KT chairperson Mrs. Nayeema Khan.
