New York, NY – Earlier this month, Khan’s Tutorial hosted a dinner for Instructors in their renowned SHSAT Program. Last year a record breaking 398 students gained acceptance to the Specialized High Schools through KT’s program. Khan’s Tutorial’s Instructors have work tirelessly with students to tackle the new SHSAT through weekly classes, workshops, boot camp sessions, and study hall. Additionally, Instructors conduct mandatory Parent Teacher Conferences to update families on students’ progress and enforce productive study habits at home. The dinner celebrated the hard work of over 40 KT SHSAT Instructors who worked with students over the last year.

“Our dedicated staff, a lot of whom are former KT SHSAT students and Specialized High School grads have worked diligently with our students to help them gain acceptance over the last year. We are so grateful for the great work they do, along with all the time and effort they dedicate to helping our students. As a team we are thrilled to be able to have helped nearly 400 students gain acceptance. It has been an incredible honor to help these families every step of the way.” said Mohammad Hossain, Vice President of Khan’s Tutorial.

“It was great to finally celebrate the end of 2017 and the start to another great year with our amazing SHSAT team. Our Instructors dedicate an immense amount of time and effort to their students and to their jobs here at KT. It makes my job as the SHSAT Program Manager so much more enjoyable working with a group of amazing individuals,” said Yusuf Khan, SHSAT Manager. Yusuf Khan manages the SHSAT program across all 11 locations and was trained and taught by Dr. Mansur Khan.

“With the SHSAT being one of the hardest exams students at such a young age prepare for, our Instructors are always coming up with new methods to help the students effectively increase their scores. Throughout the entire SHSAT Cycle at KT, they’re the front runners always ready and willing to make their sacrifices to help our students grow. We really owe it to our highly trained Instructors for giving it their all – our students’ success would be nothing without them!” said Stephen Mumin, Branch Leader at KT Ozone Park. Stephen previously lead KT Jackson Heights’ SHSAT program as their SHSAT Manager.

With 11 locations in the outer boroughs of New York City, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and in the Jackson Heights, Jamaica, Astoria, Sunnyside, Ozone Park, and Floral Park neighborhoods of Queens, Khan’s Tutorial primarily serves in assisting families in low-income, new immigrant neighborhoods. Over 2,615 students have gained admission to New York City’s Specialized High Schools and through Khan’s Tutorial since its inception in 1994.
