“I am very proud to see our newest Khan’s Tutorial center in Sunnyside Queens approach our first year in the community. For 25 years, Khan’s Tutorial has strived to serve families in Kindergarten till 12th grade for their Common Core, Specialized High Schools, & SAT needs. When the weather gets cold, parents enjoy a center that’s close by their house so that their children can keep up fantastic grades in their report card and not miss any classes. We are excited to be on Queens Blvd and 48th Street and hope to grow with our students and families in Sunnyside and across all Khan’s locations” says Dr. Ivan Khan, President and CEO of Khan’s Tutorial.
“At Khan’s Tutorial Sunnyside, our goal is to increase test scores and educate for life! We strive to make sure our students have an excellent learning experience and hope to make Sunnyside one of the strongest academic communities in Queens. Before I became a manager, I used to be a student at Khan’s Tutorial a few years ago. After going through two intense prep programs and a ton of hours in class, I wanted to play a hand in educating kids as well. Fast forward to today, I’m proud to say I’m able to help hundreds of students get a great education and help make the community a better place” says Maheen Jillani, Director of KT Sunnyside.
With 11 locations in the outer boroughs of New York City, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and in the Jackson Heights, Jamaica, Astoria, Sunnyside, Ozone Park, and Floral Park neighborhoods of Queens, Khan’s Tutorial primarily serves in assisting families in low-income, new immigrant neighborhoods. Over 2,972 students have gained admission to New York City’s Specialized High Schools through Khan’s Tutorial since its inception in 1994.
