Khan’s Tutorial Re-Opens Location in Jackson Heights

Dr. Ivan Khan leading the monthly Khan's Tutorial Parent Teacher Conference in Khan's Tutorial Jackson Heights.

This month, Khan’s Tutorial will re-open an in-person location for SAT & SHSAT classes in Jackson Heights Queens. After starting in 1994 by the late Dr. Mansur Khan (Ekushey Padak recipient) & Mrs. Nayeema Khan, Khan’s Tutorial was able to establish itself as a pioneer in tutoring and academic support throughout New York City.

With nearly 30 years of experience, Khan’s Tutorial had historically helped thousands of students succeed on the NYS exams, helped over 4,300 students into New York City’s esteemed Specialized High Schools, and helped tens of thousands to achieve scores of 1400-1600 on their way to top colleges. Furthermore, Khan’s has been a leader in subject tutoring for high school students from their science classes to math classes, and also Advanced Placement (AP) classes.

“When the COVID-19 pandemic hit New York City, we were one of the first organizations to fully focus on the health and safety of our students, families and staff. Khan’s went fully digital and continued to help over 1,000 students weekly from grades 3-12. As vaccines became more readily available and safe for students and parents, we explored every option that will work to bring our high-quality tutoring to the families that have been requesting an in-person option. Right now, we can only dedicate our resources, staff, and programs to bring our renowned SAT & SHSAT in person options. Families that want the high-quality digital experience can continue, and those SHSAT & SAT families that want to transfer in person will have that option, with the new prices that In-Person classes will need.” said CEO Dr. Ivan Khan.

Khan’s renowned SHSAT & SAT programs have been featured heavily in national media outlets like the Wall Street Journal, BBC News, NBC Asian America, Al-Jazeera English, and many more. In 2017, Khan’s became the official tutoring partner of the Brooklyn Technical High School’s Alumni Foundation. Furthermore, Khan’s does several community partnerships with Stuyvesant High School’s administration, publishes free YouTube videos for parents in Bengali, and several other community-based organizations.

“We are excited to come back to our first in-person community office this March. For two years, I’ve spoken with our parents by phone and there has always been a demand for high quality tutoring that’s affordable. We wanted to focus on the health and vaccinations for the entire community as we made our digital program the best in the market for grades 3-12. My grandchildren take Khan’s on the digital platform, and we plan for them to continue the digital version indefinitely. Whichever option works with the budgets of our families, we have always been flexible there, and our results for SHSAT, SAT and NYS exam prep is unmatched. InshAllah, I can’t wait to see everyone at our office in Jackson Heights”, said Chairperson Nayeema Khan.
