High Achieving Khan’s Tutorial Student, Tanvir C., Receives Acceptance to Johns Hopkins University

Khan’s Tutorial would like to congratulate student Tanvir C. for his acceptance to Johns Hopkins University. Tanvir is also waiting on news from an Ivy League School sometime next month. A long time student at KT, Tanvir started classes as a second grader and later returned for SAT classes. Through KT’s SAT program led by Columbia graduate Ms. Tasneem Imam Khan. Tanvir scored a 1520 on his first SAT attempt and later super scored at 1560. He currently maintains a 105 GPA at William C. Bryant High School and plans to pursue a career in the sciences.

Due to his excellent SAT score, Tanvir is currently training in KT’s SAT department at KT Jackson Heights where he mentors younger students.

“We are so excited and proud of KT Student, Tanvir Chowdhury, who received admissions into Johns Hopkins University, one of the most prestigious schools in the country. Currently, Tanvir works as an Instructor at Khan’s Tutorial where he teaches, guides and mentors other students in attaining similar if not greater achievements in their academic careers,” said Ms. Tasneem Imam Khan, Director of KT’s High School Achievement Program.

With 11 locations in the outer boroughs of New York City, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and in the Jackson Heights, Jamaica, Astoria, Sunnyside, Ozone Park, and Floral Park neighborhoods of Queens, Khan’s Tutorial primarily serves in assisting families in low-income, new immigrant neighborhoods. Since 1994, Khan’s Tutorial has helped 2,615 students gain admission to New York City’s Specialized High Schools.
