New York, NY – June 18, 2025 – Khan’s Tutorial kicked off its highly anticipated College Essay Workshop Series this past weekend with an incredible first session. A full room of 20 SAT students gathered to take the first step in crafting powerful, authentic personal statements for their college applications. Designed to demystify the college essay writing process, the session combined expert guidance, real essay examples, and dynamic brainstorming activities. This stage for a transformative summer of writing and self-discovery.
The objective of this first workshop was to help students:
- Understand what colleges look for in a personal statement
- Identify the qualities of an effective essay through real student models
- Generate meaningful content rooted in their identity, values, and lived experiences
- Begin narrowing down potential essay topics for development
The interactive session gave students tools to reflect deeply and find their authentic voice. Which are critical skills for building a competitive college application.
